NEW PATIENTS- WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW
Before you see Mark Ashton
Before your first consultation with Prof Mark Ashton you will be asked to complete a Patient Registration Form that you can download from the link below.
Your First Consultation
At your initial consultation, Prof Mark Ashton will take a detailed history and then you will be examined to assess your individual needs and suitability for the surgery you are considering.
Your first consultation may take approximately 45 minutes or longer if required. You may be shown photographs of patients who have had similar surgery. You will also be given printed patient information sheets detailing the type of surgery you have discussed at your first consultation.
It is important that you carefully read these information sheets, and write down any questions so that they can be discussed with Prof Mark Ashton at the next consultation.
Following the initial surgery consultation another appointment for a consultation can be made to discuss any further questions you may have. After your consultation the staff will provide you with an information pack containing information about your surgery and an estimate of surgery fees.
Prof Mark Ashton will ensure that any procedure is explained as clearly as possible so that you can understand what may be involved and that you are fully informed. You are welcome to invite an extra person, friend or family member, especially if your procedure is complex. Similarly we would also advise to please arrange for a babysitter on the day of your consultation for young children so that you can devote your complete attention to your consultation.
